Stand To Pee (STP)
What is a Stand to Pee (STP)?
A stand to pee (STP) is a device designed for urination, allowing the user to pee whilst standing, with the help of a funnel-shaped system that’s often built into a silicone penis. This product allows transmasculine people, non-binary people, or people AFAB to use public toilets in male spaces, or to urinate outside whilst standing, with added comfort and discretion.
Who is this Product Designed For?
STPs are designed for:
- FTM or FTX transgender people undergoing transition or self-affirming processes
- Non-binary people wanting to urinate standing up
- They can also be used by cisgender women, in situations where toilets aren’t accessible (outside, festivals, during hikes, etc.)
It’s a practical, freeing tool to use, regardless of your gender identity.
How Does a STP Work?
This accessory works like a discreet funnel that is positioned against the body and channels the urine flow outwards.
Our realistic models are moulded into the shape of a penis, often with an internal, anatomically shaped cavity. Other models are more neutral and minimalist, for more practical, discreet use.
Is an STP Easy to Use?
Using a STP requires a little practice, but will quickly become second nature. Here’s a little advice:
- Try using it in the shower first, to help you position the tool correctly and learn how to manage the flow.
- Then, try using it while naked, in your toilet at home.
- Once you feel more at ease, try the same thing but clothed this time.
- Finally, if you feel like it, try using it in a public space, remembering to bring a change of underwear, socks, and pants just in case.
Each STP has its little quirks that make it more or less easy to use. Take the time to familiarise yourself with yours.
Other Than How Practical It Is, What Are the Benefits of an STP?
For a lot of people, their first time urinating whilst standing up can be a deeply emotional experience, as using this tool can:
- Reinforce the feeling of bodily autonomy
- Add a sense of normality when in a public space (especially in men's toilets)
- Contribute to powerful, intimate forms of gender-affirming care
It is therefore much more than simply being a useful tool. It’s also a way of existing comfortably in your own body.
How to Clean your Stand to Pee
It’s important that you take good care of your stand to pee in order to ensure thorough hygiene and to preserve its lifespan:
- Wash your STP using warm water and a gentle soap after every single use
- Let your accessory air dry, making sure that the inside is fully dry (to prevent the growth of mould)
- If necessary, insert a rolled-up paper towel into the cavity to absorb the last few drops before you put your accessory away
- Never store it before it's fully dry!
