Louise Paitel Clinical psychologist

Louise Paitel is a clinical psychologist and sex therapist who specialises in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She obtained her diploma in psychology in 2012, after completing her studies in Rennes, Madrid and Paris. She then continued her studies for a further 3 years to become specialised in CBT.

Before deciding to launch her freelance business in 2018, she spent multiple years working in hospitals and then in medico-psychological centres. In her eyes, psychology is above all, a philosophy of life, and she takes inspiration from different schools of thought so that she can accompany her patients in their return to a fulfilling life, where optimism and pleasure take pride of place.

Through years of experience, she came to understand that sexual difficulties can impact and limit the happiness of her patients. She began to read up on the subject, listen to podcasts and converse with the people around her when eventually, the need to specialise in sexology became clear. In 2021, she decided to return to university, this time in Marseille, to pursue studies in clinical sexology, for which she received her diploma in 2024.

Nowadays, she works as a tutor and researcher in sexology and addictology at the University Côte d’Azur, in Nice. Her work often leads her to take part in conferences, training courses and professional events dedicated to studying the links between digital technology, artificial intelligence, intimate relationships and sexuality. Most notably, she has spoken at conferences such as the Congrès Francophone de Sexologie (JF3S) (Francophone conference on sexology), the Congrès de Gynécologie Obstétrique Pratique (GOP) (Conference on Practical Obstetrics and Gynaecology), the Congrès d'Addictologie de Nice (CADAC) (the Nice Addiction Conference) and the Paris Women’s Health Event.

She conducted a study on the impact of smartphone use on couple’s and their sex lives, and developed a therapy program designed to accompany couples with such issues. These results have been published in a scientific journal. She also carries out research on sex robot, sex doll and conversational chatbot users, for which the data collection phase is currently underway and which will result in a new scientific publication. This research contributes to developing her expertise in the interaction between digital technology, artificial intelligence and intimacy, an emerging field often dubbed “sextech”.

Alongside her research, she continues to welcome patients into her private practice, both individuals and couples.

Since 2025, Louise Paitel has been working in partnership with the brand LOVE AND VIBES, as an independent associate editor. She has a hand in validating and creating scientific content, designed to inform and guide internet users with all subjects pertaining to sexual health and sexual and interpersonal well-being. She does all of this with an enlightened, accessible, well-meaning approach that remains rooted in scientific research.
