Elise Virolleaud
Registered nurse, qualified sexologist and health mediator
Elise Virolleaud is a registered nurse, qualified sexologist and health mediator that specialises in sexual health, education on relationships, emotional well-being and sexuality, and risk reduction.
Very early on in her career, she became interested in sexual health, a topic rarely discussed in her initial training. This realisation led her to enrol in an inter-university diploma in clinical sexology in Marseille in 2021, which she completed in 2024.
Nowadays, she works as a nurse-community health mediator in a youth centre in Marseille, France. In particular, she meets with and supports young adults through one-to-one consultations, designs and runs educational programmes on relationships, emotional well-being, and sexuality. She supports a range of people using an approach based on autonomy, active listening, and access to reliable, non-judgemental information, enabling everyone to make informed choices.
Working for many years as a volunteer at a charity aimed at reducing risks and increasing prevention within the party sector, she has, amongst other things, helped to raise awareness of gender-based and sexual violence as a key risk. This approach now underpins her entire professional practice.
Her specialist fields include sexual health, health mediation, risk reduction, prevention of gender-based sexual violence and the accompaniment of marginalised groups. She takes an inclusive, queer and feminist approach to sexual health issues.
As part of her work with LOVE AND VIBES, she has a hand in validating and creating scientific content, designed to inform and guide internet users with all subjects pertaining to sexual health and sexual and interpersonal well-being. She does all of this with an enlightened, accessible, well-meaning approach that remains rooted in scientific research.
