When we discuss sexuality, we often talk about pleasure and desire… but we also need to talk about respect. Here at LOVE AND VIBES, we’re certain that a fulfilling sex life can’t be achieved without one, essential, non-negotiable thing: consent.
This is why, since March 2025 we began integrating this message onto our packaging :
"Every intimate act should be based on clear and mutual consent. Make sure that you've obtained your partner's explicit agreement before any intimate act or encounter."
A simple, yet essential message, delivered with our products from us, to you.
Why Talk About Consent on Our Packaging?
Sexuality is omnipresent within society, but sadly notions of consent, communication and respect remain too often vague, downplayed and misunderstood.
By integrating this message onto our packaging, we aim to:
- Remind people that consent is not implied
- Normalise talking about, asking for and verifying consent
- Actively participate in making the world a more healthy, respectful and mindful place when it comes to sex
Because pleasure should never come from a source of unease, pressure or ambiguity.
This initiative is neither symbolic nor a one-off event. Since March 2025, we’ve been updating the sachets we send our products in to include a message about the importance of consent. A conscious choice, made for the long term, which reflects our desire to take concrete action and change practices, beyond mere words.
Consent: a Principle to Live by, Not a Simple Formality
Saying yes once does not constitute consent forever. Consent must be:
- Explicit: expressed clearly and without any possible doubt
- Shared: freely accepted by everyone involved
- Renewed: each situation, each practice and each intimate moment requires consent to be given again
- Reversible: everyone is entitled to change their mind at any given moment
This applies to your first time with a person, as well as for long-term relationships. It also applies to the introduction of new practices and fantasies, as well as the use of new sex toys.
At LOVE AND VIBES, we believe that asking for consent is not a mood killer, in fact, it helps to strengthen trust and complicity.
